Message from Director

The Agro Economic Research Centre Vallabh Vidyanagar has been functioning with the Sardar Patel University for more than 49 years and going to celebrate Golden Jubilee function next year to mark fifty years of its existence. The Centre has successfully completed many research studies assigned to it by the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. I honestly feel that our Centre has gained enough maturity in conducting assigned research studies. I am proud to say that this Centre has grown with some great economists like V S Vyas and N S Jodha at some points of time.  During its long journey, we have experienced many difficulties. However, we have brought about remarkable improvement in every aspects including methodological base of the studies. The studies have come out with useful findings for agricultural and rural development of the Gujarat and Rajasthan in particular. The AERC has made efforts to transfer the research findings to the policy makers, practitioners, farmers for bringing out the speedier agricultural development in the states.
