Major Activities
The main planks of activities of our Centre initially included conducting village surveys, studies, investigations of the fundamental problems being experienced in an agricultural economy and rural development as also to provide technical advice to the central as well as state governments on the issues referred to by them. However, in the early 1970s the focus shifted to problem-oriented studies of immediate policy implications to the Government of India and the State Governments. It covered all aspects of Indian agriculture in general and agricultural development in the states of Gujarat and Rajasthan in particular
